Fifty-Two Weeks | Week One

Every year I like to do a personal photo project of some kind.  I can’t tell you how many times I’ve started a 365-day project and I’ve yet to finish.  I am always on the ball during my slow season, but the moment my season kicks in, the personal projects go to the wayside.  I decided a Fifty-Two Week project is the way to go – one picture, every week, for one year.  Want to join me?  I’ll blog about the new prompt every Monday and post my previous week’s take here.

This project is for everyone from amateurs to hobbyists to professionals.  We are all here to have fun and grow.  It isn’t a competition, but a place to inspire and to be inspired.  You can use whatever gear you’d like and that will produce the results you desire.  As always, the best camera is the one you have on you.

While we all intend to finish this project, if you need to take a break for a week or a month, go for it!  Life happens and it is easy to catch up if necessary.  The number one thing is one have fun and be inspired.

Last year, I was so overwhelmed to make my ‘one photo’ perfect.  If I felt it wasn’t perfect, I would be hesitant to post, or I wouldn’t complete that week’s prompt.  Who needs that kind of self-imposed stress – this is supposed to be a fun!  Fifty-Two Weeks is a personal project.  You can take whatever creative liberties you wish!

Join our Facebook Group!  Everyone who is participating posts their images weekly in the group.  I love seeing how everyone interprets the weekly prompt.  Click here to join.

If you want to post on Instagram, use the hashtag #FiftyTwoWeeks17.  That way we can find each others posts easily and support our crew!

Here we go!

Week 1:  New

Definition:  1. not existing before; made, introduced, or discovered recently or now for the first time.  2. already existing but seen, experienced, or acquired recently or now for the first time.

Want to show your new workspace, a bud popping out of the soil, a new coat of snow, or try a new technique?  Let see it!
